Natasha Richardson, 45, died today of injuries from a recent skiing accident on a beginner’s slope in Quebec. You might remember her as the mother in The Parent Trap (1998). She was a Tony-award winning stage actress and the wife of actor Liam Neeson. Such a sudden and tragic death. Her family didn’t see it coming at all. After she fell, she showed no signs of injury and felt fine. An hour later, she was reportedly not feeling well and an ambulance was called. She was a pretty cool cat.

That’s really scary. I just went skiing on hard slopes. This just serves to drive home the point of how precious and fleeting life is.
Also, I loved her character in the movie. She just was so the embodiment of the delusional yet finally happy romantic.
I loved the Paren Trap. that is so sad that she died so young.

Actually, Emma Thompson is the one in Harry Potter and Love Actually. I haven’t seen anything of Natasha Richardson’s except Parent Trap. They do look really similar though!
I remember when i was little I would watch the Parent Trap and think she was the sweetest mom in the world
A few days ago, my friends and I were discussing this at lunch. One of them remarked that she was one of the few moms that could look pretty and pull off the mom character at the same time, which I felt true. Most TV/movie moms look like they’re 18 or they’re really weird and old. I loved her character too!
And yes, she really does look like Emma Thompson! I thought they were the same person for the longest time!
